Frequently asked questions
Which Royal Holloway food outlets are listed?
Every campus food outlet, including Crosslands, The Hub cafe, Tommy's Kitchen, the Packhorse pub, Founder's Dining Hall, the cafes in the Davison and Bedford buildings, and the SU outlets. If you can buy food on campus, it should be in the app.
Are the opening hours actually live?
Hours are kept current and update with term-time changes, exam-period adjustments, and bank holidays. Outlets do occasionally change hours at short notice, so during freshers week or exam periods worth a quick check before you walk to the far side of campus.
Can I see what's on the menu?
Yes, for outlets that publish menus. Browse them in the app to decide where to eat. For specific allergen or dietary information, check with the outlet directly at the till.
Where is Crosslands?
Crosslands is in the basement of the Founder's Building, accessed from the courtyard side. It is one of the main student-priced cafes on campus and stays open later than most outlets during term time. The campus map shows the entrance.
Is the Packhorse pub on campus?
The Packhorse is the on-campus pub, run by the SU. It is in the SU building next to the Venue. Hours and food menu are in the Food Outlets tab.
What about Founder's Dining Hall?
Founder's Dining Hall is the catered hall meal service for Founder's Building residents (the daily catered meal plus the £25/week catering allowance). Hours and menus appear in the app for catered hall residents.
Can I order food through the app?
No. The app shows hours and menus to help you decide where to eat. Ordering and payment is done at the outlet itself or through any service the outlet uses.
Are there vegan and vegetarian options on campus?
Yes. Crosslands, The Hub and the SU outlets all carry vegan and vegetarian options. Menus in the app show the specifics where the outlet publishes them.
