Which Royal Holloway bus routes are covered?
The 441 and 441A White Bus services (Staines, Egham High Street, Royal Holloway, Englefield Green), the RHU shuttle from Diamond Bus South East (Hox Park, Royal Holloway Founder's Building, Egham Station), the White Bus 500 service to Frimley Park via Sunningdale, and the First Bus 8 to Heathrow Terminal 5 via Egham and Windsor. Every stop within walking distance of campus is included.
Where does the 441 stop on the Royal Holloway campus?
The 441 and 441A serve two campus stops. Founder's Square is closest to the Founder's Building, the Picture Gallery and Founder's Dining Hall. Bakerloo Road is closest to Reid, Runnymede and the Hub. Both directions use the same pair of stops. Coming from Egham railway station, get off at Founder's Square for most of campus. Both stops are on the campus map if you're working out which one drops you closest to your lecture.
How do I get from Egham station to Royal Holloway by bus?
Two options. The 441 or 441A White Bus from the bay outside the station takes about 6 minutes to Founder's Square. The Diamond Bus RHU shuttle costs £1 flat, runs roughly every 40 minutes, and stops at the Founder's Building before continuing to Hox Park. Both are tracked live in the app so you can see which one is closer.
Are the bus times actually live or just timetables?
Live. The data is pulled from the operator's GPS feed, the same source bustimes.org and Citymapper use. You see predicted arrivals based on where each bus actually is, not the printed timetable. If a bus is running late, the app shows the late time.
Does the RHU shuttle run on weekends?
The RHU shuttle runs as a daily service per the Diamond Bus timetable, including weekends, with reduced frequency at quieter times and breaks over the Christmas, Easter and summer holidays. The 441 and 441A White Bus services run year-round. The app shows whatever bus is next so you don't have to track which service is operating.
Can I save my favourite stops?
Yes. Tap the save icon on any stop to pin it. Saved stops appear at the top of the Bus Times tab in one place. Sign in with Apple or Google to sync your pinned stops across iPhone and iPad.
Does it work off campus?
It covers every bus stop within walking distance of Royal Holloway, plus Egham, Englefield Green, Hox Park and stops up to Staines. If you're further afield the saved stops still work, but for live arrivals at random UK stops you want a national app like Citymapper.
How does this compare to the official Royal Holloway app?
The official Royal Holloway app, built on the Guidebook platform, doesn't have live bus times. It links to the static printed timetable on the RHUL intranet. RHUL Mobile is the only Royal Holloway app with live GPS-tracked arrivals.
